The idea (RSVP reading): normal reading means your eyes constantly jump along each line, hunting for the next word. Fovea removes that jumping entirely — it feeds you one word at a time, in the same spot, with a single letter in each word highlighted in red to keep your eyes fixed on exactly the right place. There's no line to track and no scrolling at all.

Why it helps: most readers can comfortably go faster this way than with ordinary text. It also tends to help people who find long lines of small text tiring to follow — including many older readers and people with low vision — since there's nothing to scroll, and the text size and speed are both fully adjustable to what's comfortable.

The controls:

• Reading level sets a sensible speed range for the age group reading — Early reader, Middle grade, Teen, or Adult.
• Speed fine-tunes the pace within that range, in words per minute.
• Text size (A / A+ / A++) enlarges and bolds the word on screen — no effect on speed, just legibility.
• ◐ theme switches between dark and light, whichever is easier on the eyes.
• Play, pause, and the back/forward buttons work exactly like a normal media player — jump back if you lost focus, skip ahead if you didn't.
• When a passage finishes, a short comprehension check appears, built from that passage, to confirm the words actually landed.
